Every neighborhood has one of those houses that goes overboard with the holiday lighting each year. All possible nooks and crannies are pixie dusted with holiday characters and glowing, twinkling, flashing lights. Wreaths and candles in every window, a Santa Clause waving at you from their rooftop, the owners of this house either just enjoy the heck out of the holidays or are mysteriously compelled to push season’s greetings down the neighborhood’s throat.
On the other side of that spectrum, each neighborhood usually has a home with the most dazzling, yet extremely tasteful holiday lighting display. Our neighbor across the street is a good example of this. Each year, she picks out a focal point from her gorgeously landscaped yard and features it somehow with lighting. Last year, she had dramatic up-lighting installed on her house and barn and in several trees in the yard leading up to the house. Simple greenery was illuminated without flashy or garish fixtures and her home was transformed into a peaceful holiday setting like you might see on a Christmas card.
When I complimented her on her display, she let me in on her secret: holiday lighting services. She told me that she always hires Lucas Tree Experts for professional lighting design guidance, installation and removal.
This year, I am planning on a holiday lighting display that will focus on nature, much like my neighbor’s design. Since I know there will be experienced professionals on the job for installation, I can ask for that glowing star in the tall spruce beside our barn and not worry about any potential problems. I won’t have to wonder how in the world to get a huge wreath on the barn, I can leave the nuts and bolts to the professionals.
